| OPEN PROFILE |
 |
| Tiger is seeking a hat-trick of Open titles as he plays in his first major as a father. Woods was a five-shot winner at St Andrews in 2005 and, last year, held off Chris DiMarco to win by two at Hoylake. He was a combined 32-under-par for those two wins so if the wind doesn't blow Open courses can be at his mercy. He was in the hunt at Carnoustie eight years ago, curbing his attacking instincts with a series of irons off the tee, but eventually finished down in seventh. Woods has had to settle for runners-up finishes in both 2007 majors so he'll be desperate to put a '1' on the board here and edge closer to Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 majors. Following the birth of his first child, Jack took two majors to register a win so Tiger will be hoping to go one better and triumph at the first time of asking. |
