| "I haven't quite figured it out. I've got to keep trying to figure out how to play better at the Open," said Donald after last year's championship. That seemed fair comment as Donald's 35th place at Hoylake was his best Open finish in seven attempts. He freely admits that his game is better suited to a US Open and missing the cut in his first five Opens clearly dented his confidence. But at least the US-based Donald has made the weekend for the last two years and shown enough to suggest that there is much better to come. Donald was a fast-finishing fourth at Loch Lomond and odds of 33/1 suggest he's a likely winner but the feeling remains that one of three US Majors are more likely to give him his big Major breakthrough. |
