| OPEN PROFILE |
 |
| Casey was the round one leader at Troon in 2004 but that was a rare highlight in a disappointing Open career so far. The Englishman eventually slid back to finish tied 20th but that is still by far and away his best performance after missed cuts in 2002, 2003 and 2005 and a tied 71st place last year. Casey will never be short of confidence but even he admitted last year: "I've always thought that of the majors this would probably be the most difficult one for me to do well at." Casey has finished tied 10th in both this season's majors and his 66 at Oakmont on day two was the low round of the week. If the weather stayed calm he could play a part but, as with fellow Englishman Luke Donald, his odds off 33/1 look extremely short given what he's managed so far in this tournament. |
